HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The holidays have come and gone, the craziness is starting to subside (or begin all over again) and so far 2012 seems like its off to a good start!

First we at Vessel Drums would like to wish everyone a happy new year and best wishes on everything that you’re all up to so far! Second, we have a lot to update you on!

Fresh off of the bench we find the newly finished kit for Dave Gargula of The Howls! This was a very fun kit to make and it definitely has the sounds to back up the look. Dave and Preston decided to go with some unorthodox sizes for the kit and it turned out beautifully! They both got this thing done just in time for The Howls CD release show that took place at the Casbah on January 27th. Here’s some shots of the kit, and also a video that our good friends Kevin & Rebecca Joelson shot from the Casbah release!

The kit featured:
22 X 16 Maple Kick
12 X 9 Maple Rack Tom
14 X 7.5 Mahogany butcher block snare
18 X 16 Maple Floor Tom
(All drums feature blonde maple bass drum hoops)

also be sure to check out The Howls full length “Rocky Ground” on iTunes!

Other than that, Preston was at NAMM this last week or so and made some connections with a few brands that appeared at the show, so we shall see what that yields in future updates…

This year’s off to an excellent start and we hope that you keep checking in to see what else we’ll be up to!

This is the part where we’re excited!

Vessel Drums has been hard at work and we’re excited to bring you more news on what we’ve been busy with!

Take a look!

Welcome Jonah Babcock from Pigeon to the Vessel Drums Family!!!

We’re proud to have Jonah on his kit that was finished recently! Jonah worked with Preston to develop a 4 piece kit with a 6.5″ X 13″ Snare, 9″ X 12″ Rack, 16″ X 16″ Floor, and 20″ X 16″ Kick.

We’re also very proud to welcome Tim Hart of Boy & Bear to the family!

A while back at a show Preston and Dave had connected with Tim from Boy & Bear. Tim was on his way through town on tour, but he really liked what he heard from the snare that Preston had made for Dave from The Howls, and only a few weeks later this beast was created. A gorgeous drum featuring staggered tube lugs and standing at 7″X 13″.

Preston has been busy with the folks at SDSoundsystem.com and we’re proud to release another update from them with San Diego’s own “Little Hurricane.” Tone and CeCe have been busy touring around sharing their blend of blues and rock and it’s great to have them back in SD again!

November’s been a crazy month, and we’re glad that you keep tuning in to check everything out!
More to come, so keep checkin’ in!!!

It’s October already!?

Things have been pretty crazy lately!

The past month has been a lot of hard work here at Vessel Drums. We’ve been working on reformatting our entire site here to give you all a better view into what we’re doing and what opportunities it can afford you,  so we hope you all enjoy. Everything has been kind of hectic getting drums built, photos and content shot, and finishing preparation for the 1st Annual San Diego Drum Show that occured June 18th, 2011.

Be sure to check out our newly refinished Pricing Sheet! We also added in a gallery of a few of our past drums we’ve crafted.

Also stay tuned for our up and coming refinished Artist Profiles
